“Hey! Come join our team!” A casual but effective phrase which got me started with the cycling world.
I was 60 years old, did not own a single bicycle and could not even cycle! I could no longer turn the boisterous group away when a red mountain bike stood at my doorstep. Yes, I learnt to cycle at the age of 60, and has never had a single regret. Cycling has become my best retirement past time, form of transport to the nearby food centre or market, and to keep the doctors away!
Soon, I was trying different types and grades of bikes. Cycling from West to East of Singapore, cycling up and down the hills of Sentosa island, NTU, Jurong hill, etc. Stemming from my days as a car mechanic, I got interested in the bits and pieces. I built my own bike, then the next, and the next. My spare bedroom became crowded with 10 over bikes! That was when NeoBike (now known as Neo on Wheels) emerged, in 2019, but with over 100 bikes sold!
